Do it - Live it - Be it

About Khaama Kethna Ecovillage

Nestled within a tranquil valley of jungle wilderness & spread across 12 acres of sub-tropical forest, our sustainable village consists of eco-friendly traditionally hand-crafted cottages & treehouses surrounded by vegetable gardens, fruit trees & untouched nature in every direction. Designed as a new world for responsible & conscious living for the times now, living by example, we demonstrate a simple & sustainable way to live in harmony with the incredible native flora and fauna of the South Goan jungle.

Philosophy & Vision

Our aim is to offer an alternative way of living sustainably & consciously for those seeking a new more responsible & nourishing lifestyle away from the modern, hectic world. As a Holistic space for wellness & spiritual well-being, we encourage a lifestyle free from intoxicants where health & spiritual growth are key aspects of daily life. We provide the opportunity for a practical way to live as close to the earth as possible in a simple, comfortable & refreshing manner that helps to facilitate the individual’s search for truth, self-discovery, and one’s true life purpose.

Live with less & experience more…

We provide the unique opportunity to learn the difference between true needs and unnecessary wants. This fresh, wild & unconfined environment inspires and empowers people to give up their unnecessary indulgencies & conveniences in order to gain practical knowledge in eco practices by actually living a minimalistic & sustainable lifestyle. Living more naturally and in harmony with the earth encourages us to conserve precious resources & to live a less wasteful & more self-sufficient lifestyle that reduces our carbon footprint on this earth our home.

Living each day in the abundant beauty of nature teaches us to acknowledge & embrace the whole of life while reconnecting to the beautiful life force within & all around.

“Sustainable living is to first truly be a Sustainable Being.”

  • Begins with observing & taking responsibility for the effects that you as an individual and your actions have on your environment and the planet as a whole. It is about addressing your own behaviors, consumption levels, material dependencies, consumer habits & waste production in every aspect of your life.

  • Why do we as individuals unconsciously consume so much more of the earth’s resources then we need? If we look at the root of the problem instead of making small superficial changes, we will see what needs to change is 'me'. When we begin to look inward and face the unhappiness inside ourselves’ the emptiness we fill with materialism & mass consumption, then we begin to address the issues from the inside out. As we heal ourselves and rediscover the fulfillment & joy from within instead of without, we automatically start to want less, consume less & in general be more content with what we have. We begin to stop worshipping money and possessions and cultivate more gratitude for the simple pleasures of living that are free of charge but truly invaluable and this is being a ‘Sustainable Being’.

  • The rate at which we are consuming resources and generating waste is going up drastically. The earth’s capacity to provide what we need has declined and continues to decline rapidly. Learning to adapt and live in a manner that is simple, minimalistic and in harmony and balance with all of the systems in nature to be able to survive and once again thrive within nature’s limits.
